Can You Get Change for a Smile? You bet you can! At least here, where all our volunteers give a smile and get change back.
That change is a stronger community, a new friend, a sense of accomplishment. All it takes is a few hours here or there and the duties are easy, reading and sorting mail, friendly visiting, a little shopping or going for a walk. Requirements to be a great volunteer include: desire to help others; pleasant demeanor; good reading/speaking voice; average reading skills; organizational or planning abilities; good driving record; clear criminal history; two references access to a car with proof of insurance; a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage.
You must be in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York or Massachusetts, there is no relocation, passport, Visa or stipend available.
