Cake Consultant

Empire Cake, a gourmet American-style bakery in Greenwich Village, is seeking a Head Cake Consultant to join our growing business. This is a great position for a detail-oriented, organized person who has worked in event planning or cake decorating or a related field, now looking to use their abilities and experience to inspire a team in an administrative setting. The Head Cake Consultant is responsible for our Cake Consultant Department, which assists customers with in-person, phone, and online cake orders.

The Head Cake consultant manages a small team of consultants and works closely with our bakers and cake decorators. Their duties include helping to design and supervise the creation of decorated cakes, compiling daily and weekly production lists, and making sure all custom orders are completed on time and as specified. They also work closely with our FOH team and delivery service, ensuring that cake orders get to customers as required.

The ideal candidate would be detail oriented and well organized, have great communication skills, and be dedicated to customer service. Managerial experience is required, as is availability to work 5 days per week, Tuesdays through Saturdays. A background in cake decorating or event planning, or another relevant field, plus an artistic eye and good taste are all big pluses.
