Job Description
Our client is seeking a Buyer to support a manufacturing operation by managing purchasing activities, coordinating material availability, and maintaining production schedules. This role ensures that raw materials, components, and purchased parts arrive on time and in the correct quantities to support uninterrupted production. It requires strong ERP/MRP proficiency, hands‑on scheduling experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑moving, small‑team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Inventory Optimization — Monitor inventory levels, adjust safety stock, and prevent shortages or excess through proactive planning.
- Material Planning — Align material availability with production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and components.
- Troubleshooting — Adjust schedules and purchasing plans in response to machine downtime, changing demand, or supply disruptions.
- Process Improvement — Identify opportunities to improve scheduling accuracy, reduce waste, and enhance on‑time delivery performance.
- Production Scheduling — Build and maintain weekly and monthly production schedules aligned with customer demand, sales forecasts, and capacity constraints.
- ERP/MRP Management — Use systems such as SAP, Oracle, MES, or equivalent to run MRP, release manufacturing orders, and maintain accurate material and inventory records.
- Purchasing & Supplier Coordination — Issue purchase orders, manage lead times, track shipments, coordinate with domestic and international suppliers, and resolve delivery or quality issues.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- All educational levels will be considered.
- Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of SQL preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, MES, or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently in a small, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing purchasing, materials planning, or production scheduling.
- Experience coordinating materials with production requirements, including lead times, shipping methods, and distributor relationships.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in discrete manufacturing (electronics, industrial, automotive, machinery, or similar)
- Prior responsibility for end‑to‑end purchasing, supplier follow‑up, and production‑floor coordination.
- Familiarity with domestic and international suppliers, including container shipments and air freight.
Work Environment:
- Works closely with production, logistics, and leadership teams.
- Requires proactive problem‑solving and ownership of purchasing and scheduling activities.
