Buyer / Procurement Specialist

Key Facts
1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
Supplier visits and occasional travel as needed
Experience supporting procurement activities in engineering, manufacturing, construction, industrial, or project-based environments preferred
SAP experience preferred
About This Role
As a Buyer / Procurement Specialist, you'll help ensure Waga Energy's projects and operations have the materials, equipment, and supplier support needed to succeed. You'll work closely with project delivery, operations, and supply chain teams to manage purchasing activities, support sourcing decisions, and maintain strong supplier relationships. Reporting to the U.S. Supply Chain Manager, you'll play an important role in securing quality materials, managing lead times, and supporting successful project execution across North America.
What You'll Do - Responsibilities & Duties
Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders while tracking deliveries to ensure on-time receipt of goods and services
Partner with project delivery and operations teams to understand requirements and support project success through effective procurement planning
Review MRP recommendations, purchasing proposals, inventory levels, and purchase requisitions to support material availability
Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times, and purchase terms
Research products, suppliers, market conditions, pricing trends, and lead times to support sourcing decisions
Resolve supplier issues, returns, and delivery challenges while coordinating effective solutions
Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and forecasts within company systems
Participate in supplier visits, meetings, and qualification activities as needed
About You - Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles
Professional-level English communication skills, both written and verbal
SAP experience preferred; familiarity with ERP systems and purchase order processes is a plus
Experience reviewing MRP recommendations, inventory needs, and procurement requirements
Knowledge of supplier management, sourcing, negotiation, and procurement best practices
Highly organized with strong prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external suppliers
