Business Systems Analyst โ Guidewire Policy Modernization Contract Position Locations: Plano, TX โ Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Remote) San Antonio, TX โ Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Remote) Position Overview Seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support a large-scale Policy Modernization initiative within a Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance environment. This role will work closely with Guidewire development, architecture, product, and business teams to support enterprise modernization efforts focused on Guidewire platform implementations, integrations, and data-driven business processes. The ideal candidate has strong experience gathering and translating business requirements, supporting large enterprise implementations, and working within Guidewire or insurance technology ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements Support Guidewire modernization and implementation initiatives across policy, billing, and claims domains Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements, user stories, workflows, and process documentation Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, and solution discussions Create and maintain: Business requirements documents (BRDs) Functional specifications Process flows User stories Acceptance criteria Traceability documentation Work closely with development and QA teams to support testing, validation, and defect resolution Assist with data mapping, API integration requirements, and downstream system impacts Support Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives Identify project risks, gaps, dependencies, and process improvement opportunities Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery Required Qualifications 5+ years of Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst experience Experience supporting medium-to-large enterprise technology implementations Strong experience gathering and documenting complex business and technical requirements Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills Ability to work independently in fast-paced enterprise environments Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Insurance & Guidewire Experience Experience with: Guidewire PolicyCenter Guidewire BillingCenter Guidewire ClaimCenter Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience strongly preferred Experience supporting policy modernization initiatives Technical & Data Experience Familiarity with: APIs and system integrations Kafka CDC (Change Data Capture) Spark Flink EMR Athena AWS cloud environments Experience supporting enterprise data platforms or modernization projects Ideal Candidate Profile Enterprise Business Analyst with insurance technology experience Comfortable bridging business and technical teams Strong documentation and process-mapping background Experience supporting Guidewire or large policy administration modernization efforts Able to manage multiple stakeholders and complex enterprise initiatives Strong collaborator with development, QA, architecture, and product teams
