Business System Analyst

Job Title: Business Systems Analyst (BSA) – Capital Markets Location: Toronto, ON Experience: 8–12+ Years We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong expertise in the banking domain , specifically within Capital Markets . The ideal candidate will act as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving requirements, system enhancements, and delivering high-quality solutions aligned with capital markets operations. Required Skills & Experience Domain Expertise Strong experience in Capital Markets , including: Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX, or Commodities Trade lifecycle (order capture → execution → settlement) Deep understanding of banking systems and financial instruments Business Analysis Skills Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) in banking/financial services Strong knowledge of requirement elicitation techniques Expertise in process modeling (BPMN/UML), data analysis, and system integration Technical Skills Experience working with: SQL / Data analysis APIs, messaging systems, or integration frameworks Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Visio Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure financial environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with trading platforms (e.g., Murex, Calypso, Fidessa, Summit, etc.) Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, Basel) Certification such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or CFA (preferred but not mandatory) Key Competencies Capital Markets Domain Expertise Stakeholder Management Requirement Analysis & Documentation Data & System Analysis Agile Delivery
