SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth across advanced therapies, collections services, and research-related programs. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and expanding program offerings across both hospital and life sciences markets. The position operates across the full business development lifecycle from generating opportunities to closing deals and supporting ongoing client growth.
Success in this role requires proactive outreach, strong relationship management, and the ability to translate market needs into viable programs and partnerships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Business Development & Opportunity Creation: 30% • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in advanced therapies, research, and clinical markets • Build relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, research institutions, and hospital partners • Proactively engage prospective clients through targeted outreach and networking • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, trends, and new applications for products and services • Support development and expansion of programs including human platelet lysate (hPL), clinical trials, and donor programs • Ensure hospital clients are aware of advanced therapy and collections services to support program growth and avoid operational bottlenecks Sales & Deal Management: 25% • Own progression of qualified opportunities through close • Manage customer discussions, align stakeholders, and drive decisions • Partner with leadership on pricing exceptions and complex deal structuring • Present solutions that align client needs with organizational capabilities • Ensure opportunities move efficiently from interest to commitment Account Growth & Client Development: 20% • Drive growth in both volume and product/service adoption within existing client relationships • Identify opportunities to expand offerings based on client needs and program developments • Maintain ongoing relationships with key clients to support continued engagement and program growth • Support expansion of research programs and partnerships over time Client Experience Management: 15% • Coordinate onboarding and setup of new clients and programs, including advanced therapy partners (e.g., CAR-T manufacturers) • Serve as a point of contact for new product requests, program changes, and service-related issues • Partner with operations to ensure successful delivery of services and solutions • Maintain visibility into client needs and escalate issues as needed to ensure strong overall experience Just For You: Career advancement. We need someone who has: • Bachelor’s degree relevant field (science, healthcare, business, or related discipline). • 3+ years of experience in business development, healthcare, biotech, or related field. • Experience working with or selling into hospitals, biotech, or pharmaceutical organizations. • Proven ability to identify opportunities and build relationships We prefer: • Experience in advanced therapies, cellular therapies, clinical trials, or biologics • Experience with blood products, collections services, or research materials • Experience supporting program development or new product launches Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
