Job Description Business Development Manager \n\nPlant & Machinery Auctions\n\n£40,000 – £60,000 + Commission (£80-100k OTE) + Company Car\n\nRemote - UK\n\nCompany Overview \n\nThis business is a well-established auction and asset remarketing specialist, supporting clients across construction, agriculture, and commercial vehicle sectors.\n\nDue to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Manager to increase the volume of plant and machinery assets entering their auction pipeline.\n\nOperating across both physical and online auctions, the company works with contractors, plant hire firms, fleet operators, and asset owners to maximise asset value through structured asset disposal strategies. The role plays a key part in driving revenue by sourcing and securing high-value consignments.\n\nJob Overview \n\nThis is a fieldBusiness Development role focused on sourcing plant, agricultural machinery, and commercial vehicles for auction. Sitting within the commercial team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing client relationships, and ensuring a consistent pipeline of assets for upcoming auctions.
Success in the role is measured by consignment value, new client acquisition, and auction performance.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nWin new business across construction, plant hire, agriculture, and fleet sectors \nSource plant, machinery, and commercial vehicles for auction \nBuild strong relationships with contractors and asset owners \nVisit sites to identify equipment and sales opportunities \nAdvise clients on auction process, pricing, and asset values \nNegotiate deals and manage vendor expectations \nMaintain a pipeline of upcoming auction stock \nWork with internal teams to ensure smooth auction delivery \nPerson Specification\n\nProven experience in business development, field sales, account management, or auction/remarketing environments\nBackground in plant hire, construction equipment, capital equipment sales, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, OR auctions (property, vehicles, general assets)\nCandidates from an auction house or asset remarketing background highly encouraged to apply\nStrong understanding of commercial environments and client relationship management\nExperience dealing with contractors, vendors, buyers, or asset owners\nCommercially astute with strong negotiation and closing skills\nComfortable working in a field-based, target-driven environment\nFull UK driving licence essential\nBenefits\n\n £40,000 – £60,000 base salary\nCommission Structure - £80-£100k OTE dependent on basic offered\nCompany car or car allowance\nPension scheme\nLong-term career progression within a growing commercial division\nFor more information or to apply, please submit your CV or get in touch directly for a confidential discussion.\n\nASPLIV
