Business Development Leader – Data Centers

Located in one of our following offices Round Rock, TX, Houston, TX, St. Louis, MO, or Blue Bell, PA, as a Business Development Leader - Data Centers you will be responsible for providing leadership and supporting assigned account teams to ensuring success for our Process Systems & Solutions business group.

In this high visibility role, you will routinely interact with top executives while driving results for our customers and Emerson.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, channel partners, and internal teams within the Data Center industry.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans that expand systems and software opportunities.
  • Lead sales pursuits and account development activities that deliver value for customers and Emerson.
  • Facilitate quarterly business reviews and communicate industry trends, performance metrics, and growth opportunities.
  • Represent Emerson at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to strengthen market presence and build relationships.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including executive leaders, customers, and partners to support strategic initiatives.
  • Achieve or exceed business growth objectives and drive measurable commercial results.
  • Capture and share customer success stories, best practices, and business insights.
  • Build and strengthen collaborative relationships with customers, channel partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with marketing teams to develop compelling industry messaging and value propositions.
  • Support business processes related to opportunity management, forecasting, financial reviews, and pursuit planning.
  • Maintain visibility into key opportunities and communicate business forecasts accurately and effectively.

About You

You are a sales professional that serves as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long‑lasting relationships with key accounts. You readily distinguish between what’s relevant and what’s unimportant to make sense of complex situations. You are decisive and make high‑quality decisions, even when based on incomplete information or in the face of uncertainty.

You convey clear performance expectations and follow up consistently while delegating in a way that empowers ownership. You enjoy developing networks. You have a passion for helping customers meet their business objectives.

You have a keen understanding of how and when you apply technology to business problems and reporting on the results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Field
  • Minimum 4 years of sales related experience
  • Proven results in creating business value and building effective relationships
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Process Automation industry
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Data Center experience
  • DeltaV DCS knowledge

Benefits & Compensation

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $78,500 – $145,700 plus bonus, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
