Position: Business Development Executive

Location: Field Based - Dublin, Louth, Meath, Cavan & Monaghan area.

Job Type: Full time, permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: €40,000 - €45,000.00 per annum DOE, plus commission plus company vehicle

About the Role: As a Business Development Executive, you’ll play a key role in growing Matthew Algie’s presence across Dublin and surrounding counties. You’ll be responsible for identifying and winning new business, managing existing customer relationships and helping customers get the very best from our products and services.

In this role, you’ll become part of a growing, well-established coffee business with a passion for quality, customer success, and strong partnerships. Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the Irish market.
  • Prospect for new customers through networking, referrals, market research, calls and face-to-face meetings.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Arrange and conduct customer meetings, presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Develop tailored proposals and commercial solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Negotiate and close new business opportunities.
  • Consistently work towards and achieve agreed sales targets.

Customer Account Management

  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with existing customers.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, understanding their needs and identifying opportunities to grow the account.
  • Regularly review customer accounts and identify opportunities for additional products and services.
  • Ensure customers receive a high level of service and support.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve customer queries and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor account performance and maintain accurate CRM records.

Customer Training & Development

  • Assist in the delivery coffee, tea, equipment and product training to customers and their teams.
  • Support customers in improving product quality, consistency and overall customer experience.
  • Conduct site visits and provide advice and recommendations where required.
  • Represent Matthew Algie professionally at customer events, demonstrations and industry activities.

Other Responsibilities

  • Keep up to date with industry trends, competitor activity and developments within the coffee and hospitality sectors.
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions and customer events as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Matthew Algie team to deliver customer and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline and customer information.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Take on other duties and projects as required to support the continued growth of the business.

Person Specification

Experience: Coffee industry experience is an advantage, but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, commercial drive and ability to build genuine relationships with customers.

  • Commercially minded and motivated by winning new business.
  • Confident building relationships with customers at all levels.
  • Naturally personable, approachable and a strong communicator.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple customers and opportunities.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing their own diary and territory.
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
  • Confident presenting and delivering training to individuals and groups.
  • Target-driven, resilient and proactive.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ideally experienced in sales, business development, account management or the hospitality/foodservice industry.
