Job Description

The Business Development Director is responsible for driving strategic revenue growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening long-term client relationships for WHS. WHS provides top quality professional civil engineering, land surveying, construction administration, construction management, inspection and materials testing services for both private and public clients. The role exists to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities while cultivating existing client relationships to generate reoccurring revenue and increase company profitability.

The Business Development Director directly impacts company valuation through revenue growth, market diversification, brand positioning, and sustainable client pipelines. This role can be located in Colorado, North Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming. Key Responsibilities Revenue Growth & Opportunity Development Identifies and pursues new project opportunities aligned with WHS services Develops and executes strategic growth initiatives Builds and maintains a qualified sales pipeline Tracks and forecasts business development performance Supports pricing strategy in collaboration with leadership Client Relationship Management Develops strong relationships with key clients and decision-makers Maintains ongoing communication with existing clients Identifies cross‑selling and repeat business opportunities Ensures client satisfaction and retention Proposal & Capture Strategy Leads or supports proposal strategy and positioning Coordinates with technical teams to prepare for compelling proposals Differentiates our company in competitive bid environments Aligns proposals with client needs and company strengths Conducts market research and identifies growth sectors Monitors competitor positioning and pricing trends Recommends strategic adjustments based on market conditions Brand Representation & Networking Represents company at industry events, conferences, and community engagements Builds strategic partnerships with contractors, municipalities, and developers Builds relationships with energy companies and EPCM companies Enhances company brand visibility and credibility Qualifications At least 8 years of experience in business development with engineering, survey, construction, or related industries Demonstrated track record of revenue growth Strong network in Oil & Gas industry High‑energy and self‑starter attitude Team player who collaborates and builds excitement around the organization Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred This role can be located in Colorado, North Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming We offer medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance We recognize the importance of a work/life balance and offer company‑paid holidays, paid parental leave We encourage growth and development of our employees through tuition assistance, professional certification reimbursement and talent development programs We also offer other benefits including wellness programs, flexible spending benefits, dependent care account, employee assistance program, and more SALARY WILL VARY BY STATE, BASED ON COST‑OF‑LIVING ESTIMATES OF THE BASE WORK LOCATION.

The total compensation (base salary + incentive comp based on sales quotas) for this position is $100,000-$150,000. Within the range, total compensation is determined by additional factors, including hitting sales targets, education, experience, credentials, and job‑related skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
