These duties must be performed in a highly confidential manner, aligned with the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are expected to provide high-quality care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and guests.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Business experience (preferred)
- Full-time, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience with Cerner (preferred)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Analyze data of discharged patients and identify connections.
- Contact insurance companies and review UB and EOBs.
- Collect data, create and organize spreadsheets, and update data regularly.
- Communicate with billers and coders.
- Assist in facilitating patient transportation via ambulance out of the facility.
- Educate physicians and staff regarding appropriate level of care/utilization issues.
- Evaluate and screen potential admissions to the facility when appropriate.
- Ensure clinical profiles are sent to payers promptly.
- Identify issues that may delay patient transfers, facilitate timely resolution, and communicate reasons for delays.
- Complete all aspects of the transfer process, including facilitating hand-off communication between sending and receiving parties.
- Maintain timely and up-to-date documentation within Cerner. Collect and document data in real-time within Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Use appropriate communication channels when initiating changes, reporting information, or addressing concerns.
- Conduct outreach to hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
- Be resourceful and self-sufficient.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
