Job Description
Job Title: Business Applications Analyst Department: Information Technology โ Business Applications Location: Hyderabad, India Reports To: Business Applications Manager Employment Type: Full-time Role Summary The Business Applications Analyst sits within the IT department and acts as the bridge between internal IT teams and business stakeholders, ensuring the organization's business applications (Jira, ITSM tools, HRMS/CRM platforms, and other systems) continue to meet evolving business needs. Requirements Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field (equivalent practical experience may be considered). Experience: 3โ5 years of experience in Business Applications, Application Support, Business Analysis, or related IT coordination roles.
Hands-on experience configuring and administering products across the Atlassian ecosystem โ Software, Jira Service Management, Jira Product Discovery, Jira Assets and Confluence (workflows, schemes, permissions, custom fields, automation rules, scripting). Practical, hands-on experience with integration methodologies such as APIs, webhooks, SFTP, middleware, or system-to-system integrations โ including building, testing, or troubleshooting these integrations. Demonstrated ability to understand business problems and translate them into systemic, process-driven, or custom solutions.
Experience working with cross-functional business to gather, analyze, and document requirements. Experience evaluating business problems and recommending systemic, process-driven, or custom technology solutions. Exposure to vendor coordination, solution evaluation, implementation, or application enhancement projects.
Technical Skills: Strong, hands-on understanding of application configuration, workflow design, automation, and user/role management within IT-managed platforms. Solid working knowledge of integration approaches โ REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, file-based/SFTP integrations, and middleware โ with the ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot these independently. Familiarity with business process mapping, workflow optimization, and solution documentation.
Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and project collaboration practices. Experience participating in application evaluations, UAT, or implementation projects Working knowledge of scripting or query languages (SQL, JavaScript, Python) to build automations, troubleshoot issues, and support light development work. Soft Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills โ able to translate between business languaJirage and IT/technical language. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Self-driven mindset with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new applications and technologies.
Strong collaboration skills with business users, vendors, and technical teams. Good to Have Skills: Familiarity with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management), CMDB, and broader IT service management concepts (incident, problem, change, and configuration management). Exposure to HRMS, CRM, or ERP other similar enterprise applications will be a plus.
Basic knowledge of scripting or query languages such as SQL, JavaScript, or Python. Familiarity with service management, SaaS application governance, role-based access concepts, and process improvement initiatives. Knowledge in emerging technologies, AI tools, and automation trends and how they could be applied to improve business application workflows.
