Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly driven Business Analyst to support Accounts Payable (AP) operations and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is focused on improving processes, driving efficiency, and supporting system enhancements within an evolving AP environment. This role is ideal for someone comfortable working in ambiguity and building structure, documentation, and scalable processes from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities Work through a backlog of AP-related issues, performing root cause analysis on process inefficiencies, delays, and operational bottlenecks Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify gaps, and implement process improvements Build and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and workflow diagrams for undocumented or evolving processes Support system initiatives including UAT and collaboration with technical teams , while managing requests through an intake/prioritization system Must-Have Qualifications Strong Business Analyst experience with a focus on process improvement and optimization Proven ability to build process flows and SOPs from scratch in ambiguous environments and drive measurable improvements Hands-on experience with process mapping, root cause analysis, and documentation Advanced Excel skills (reporting required; macros preferred) Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with stakeholders and operate with high ownership and independence Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience in Accounts Payable or finance-related functions Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP ECC, Oracle Financials) Background in energy or upstream environments , or light accounting knowledge Team & Environment Collaborative team of SMEs supporting multiple ERP systems Strong focus on documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement Manager values individuals who are proactive, self-sufficient, and solutions-oriented What a Strong Candidate Looks Like Comfortable stepping into messy or undocumented environments Proven track record of building processes and documentation from scratch Able to operate with minimal oversight while driving improvements proactively
