Business Analyst III

TITLE: Sr Business Analyst TYPE: Contract LOCATION: Norristown, PA ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: Hybrid, onsite every Wednesday START DATE: May 2026 We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead requirements gathering and documentation efforts for projects within a Market Settlements environment. This team supports systems that calculate and report financial settlements tied to wholesale energy markets and transmission services, representing significant annual transaction volumes. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and update documentation, supporting team understanding and training as needed.

Translate complex business concepts, including regulatory or market-driven requirements, into clear functional specifications and system logic. Analyze and document current-state processes, application structures, and system dependencies. Lead requirements gathering efforts for system enhancements, market rule changes, and new product implementations.

Develop detailed deliverables such as process flows, use cases, data mappings, and business rules documentation. Track assigned tasks and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Partner with Quality Assurance teams to ensure requirements are fully understood and properly validated through testing.

Ensure appropriate controls are incorporated into solutions, including security and compliance considerations. Build a strong understanding of business operations and continuously refine requirements based on stakeholder feedback. Monitor and maintain high levels of stakeholder satisfaction through effective communication and delivery.

Identify and document system or process issues, providing recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness. QUALIFICATIONS Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience Strong experience developing business analysis deliverables, including requirements documentation, process diagrams (As-Is/To-Be), use cases, traceability matrices, data dictionaries, and business rules Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and data analysis techniques Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments with both business and technical teams Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Demonstrated ability to manage tasks independently and drive work through completion Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong listening skills with the ability to understand existing processes and business needs Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and share knowledge Familiarity with process mapping tools such as Visio or equivalent Strong organizational skills, including experience with version control, documentation standards, and requirement traceability Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision Preferred Professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, IIBA, or similar Experience compiling, structuring, and analyzing large data sets Advanced SQL skills or experience with data analysis tools Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and Confluence Experience in energy markets (e.g., ISO/RTO environments) or financial trading/clearing operations Background working with settlement or billing systems EOE STATEMENT We are an equal opportunity employer.
