Business Analyst Reference: BH-388c Job Type: Contract Duration: 31 May 2026 – 19 Sept 2026 Location: Remote working (1 day per month in the London office) Day rate: up to £550 per day (Outside IR35) About The Client: Our client is delivering a large-scale digital transformation programme within the UK transport sector, focused on consolidating multiple customer-facing platforms into a single, unified digital experience. The programme brings together multiple stakeholders across the industry to modernise ticketing, improve user experience, and enable faster innovation across digital channels. About The Role: Our client is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a complex, multi-stakeholder digital transformation programme.
The role will focus on defining and shaping requirements for a large-scale transactional platform, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across business, technical, and supplier teams. You will play a key role in translating strategic objectives and operational needs into structured requirements, supporting procurement activity, and helping ensure solutions are well-defined and deliverable within a highly governed environment. Key Responsibilities Requirements Analysis: Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
Scope & Solution Definition: Define and manage scope boundaries across multiple interconnected components, working closely with technical, design, procurement, and programme teams. Stakeholder Engagement: Translate complex industry and operational needs into clear, structured outputs for senior stakeholders and governance forums. Procurement Support: Develop requirement packs and evaluation materials, support supplier clarification processes, and track requirement dependencies throughout procurement activities.
Essential Experience Strong experience as a Business Analyst within large-scale digital or eCommerce environments Proven experience delivering transactional platforms (websites/apps) with complex user journeys (e.g. checkout, payments, accounts) Strong requirements engineering skills (functional and non-functional requirements), including prioritisation techniques such as MoSCoW Experience working with UX, architects, product, and procurement teams in complex delivery environments Ability to translate business, user, and operational needs into clear process flows and business logic Strong written communication skills, including production of structured documentation for senior stakeholders Experience working in multi-stakeholder, cross-functional environments Desirable Experience Experience in transport, rail, or other regulated sectors Familiarity with UK rail ticketing systems, customer account platforms, or digital payment flows Understanding of public sector procurement processes and business case development (e.g. Green Book-aligned approaches) Why join?
