Business Analyst

Business Analyst (BASEL regulatory reporting, Capital Markets, Finance Systems, US Regulatory Reporting) Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Duration: Contract SCOPE OF ROLE The Systems Analyst (BA) responsibilities include conducting requirements gathering sessions and other BA activities with a large diverse set of Product Controllers and Finance Controllers for medium to large size project initiatives. The role involves providing a high‑level key deliverable plan and detailed breakdown of major tasks, understanding various Capital Market Products, differentiating trade economics mapping, and tracing source data to WSB applications. The position requires significant interpersonal interaction at all levels within the organization, from technical personnel to high‑level management, and excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES Undertake BA responsibilities of multiple strategic applications involving Capital Market Products. Understand the various financial products traded on Markets in RBC and how they have been modeled (e.g., MBS, Bonds, Rate Derivatives). Be familiar with booking and settlement process and concepts of trades, positions, sub‑ledger, and price valuations.

Analyze existing data models built on MS Access and correlate business requirements to gaps in data models; build solutions. Document business and functional requirements from business stakeholders. Lead and facilitate collaborative sessions with stakeholders to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review.

Perform data analysis, reverse engineering, and gap analysis to determine current and future states. Identify upstream and downstream dependencies and construct data flow, business, and system context diagrams. Work closely with development teams to ensure full understanding and proper execution of requirements.

Provide hands‑on support during various testing cycles (functional, systems integration, user acceptance). Adopt Agile methodologies to enable periodic implementations and manage scrum activities. Identify and communicate risks, assumptions, and constraints.

Use tools and platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, SQL; be willing to learn ad hoc. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology or Business. 5‑7 years of business systems analysis experience in a fast‑paced environment. Expert knowledge of SQL and Excel for data analysis.

Strong capital markets product knowledge, particularly derivatives. Proven data analysis experience and project delivery in financial services. #J-18808-Ljbffr
