BUILDING MANAGER Manchester 12 Month FTC A well-established property business is seeking an experienced Building Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract, to take the lead at a 75,000 sq. ft Grade II listed building that has gone through a recent refurbished — this is a site that requires someone with genuine pride in their work and an eye for the detail that sets a well-managed building apart. You will be the on-site lead responsible for day-to-day operations, occupier relationships, compliance, and the commercial performance of the building's service charge. This is a broad, accountable role in a business that sets a high bar for quality and customer engagement in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities Day-to-day building operations and fabric maintenance All H&S compliance: audits, fire evacuations, statutory requirements Crisis management planning, review and annual testing Risk and insurance compliance management Site records: asset registers, emergency plans, plant testing Liaison with local authorities as required Service charge budget preparation, control and monitoring Management reporting in line with business requirements Contractor oversight and procurement in line with company policy Occupier relationship management and tenant meetings Line management of on-site personnel Performance reviews, appraisals and setting objectives What we are looking for Proven experience in facilities or building management, including line management of staff and contractors Good technical knowledge of building management Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation and environmental protection requirements Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine customer-first approach Confident managing service agreements and external contracts IT literate, including familiarity with industry-specific FM systems Able to work on your own initiative in a fast-paced, pressurised environment IOSH qualified (or equivalent) IWFM qualified (Desirable)
