Bevan Enterprises Inc. is a locally owned real estate development and property management company with a growing portfolio of residential apartment buildings and commercial properties across Prince Edward Island.

We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and service-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team and help maintain our properties to a high standard.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing general repairs, preventative maintenance, property upkeep, apartment turnovers, and service requests across Bevan Enterprises’ residential and commercial properties.

The successful candidate will take pride in their work, communicate professionally with tenants and contractors, and be able to work independently while also contributing to a small maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and complete tenant maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Perform general repairs involving drywall, painting, flooring, doors, trim, fixtures, appliances, and cabinetry
  • Complete minor plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Perform apartment move-out inspections and prepare units for new tenants
  • Assist with preventative maintenance inspections and building upkeep
  • Maintain common areas, mechanical rooms, storage areas, and exterior spaces
  • Complete seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting, and ice control
  • Identify maintenance issues and report larger repairs or safety concerns to management
  • Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized work is required
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and outstanding issues
  • Assist with maintaining tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with company policies and applicable safety standards
  • Participate in an emergency or on-call rotation as required
  • Represent Bevan Enterprises in a courteous and professional manner when dealing with tenants, suppliers, and contractors

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in property maintenance, construction, building operations, or a related trade
  • Strong general repair and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and flooring
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple service requests
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, organized, and safety-conscious
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions
  • WHMIS, First Aid, or trade experience would be considered an asset
