BIM Estimation Engineer

Job Title: BIM Estimation Engineer Location: Ahemdabad Department: Estimation / Preconstruction / BIM Reports To: Estimation Manager / BIM Manager Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled BIM Estimation Engineer to support preconstruction and cost planning activities through the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM). The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting quantities from BIM models, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with design and construction teams, and ensuring accurate project cost forecasting throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze architectural, structural, and MEP BIM models for quantity takeoff and cost estimation.

Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs directly from BIM models using industry-standard software. Develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects. Validate model data to ensure quantities and cost information are complete and accurate.

Coordinate with BIM modelers, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve design and quantity discrepancies. Generate cost reports, estimation summaries, and tender documentation. Support value engineering initiatives by evaluating alternative materials, systems, and construction methods.

Maintain and update cost databases, productivity rates, and historical cost records. Assist in bid preparation, tender evaluations, and subcontractor/vendor comparisons. Participate in project meetings and provide estimation-related technical support.

Ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and industry best practices. Contribute to the development and improvement of BIM-based estimation workflows and processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. 3–8 years of experience in construction estimation, quantity surveying, or BIM-based cost management.

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems. Experience in preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects. Knowledge of BIM standards and model-based quantity extraction processes.

Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Technical Skills Proficiency in BIM software such as: Autodesk Revit Navisworks Autodesk Construction Cloud CostX Cubit Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of quantity takeoff and estimating software.

Familiarity with BIM 3D/4D/5D workflows. Understanding of IFC, COBie, and other BIM data standards is preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience with 5D BIM cost management.

Knowledge of international measurement standards (NRM, CESMM, POMI, SMM, etc.). Professional certifications in BIM, Quantity Surveying, or Cost Engineering are advantageous. Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
