About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Bilingual Customs Brokerage Customer Service Specialist to support import operations and customs clearance processes. This role serves as a key liaison between clients, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams, ensuring shipments are processed efficiently, comply with applicable regulations, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, managing inquiries, requests, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare, review, and verify import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and related shipping documents.
  • Ensure shipments comply with customs regulations, trade agreements, and import/export requirements.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, vendors, and internal departments to facilitate timely shipment processing.
  • Monitor import shipments and proactively address delays, documentation issues, or clearance challenges.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to shipment details, billing, or customs documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Process cargo insurance requests, track associated costs, and support billing activities.
  • Issue dispatch instructions to agents and review final documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain up-to-date operational information within internal systems and databases.
  • Provide operational support during periods of high workload or team absences.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Technical, Technologist, or Professional degree in International Business, Foreign Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience in customs brokerage, import operations, international logistics, or freight forwarding.
  • Knowledge of import documentation, customs clearance procedures, and international trade regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with logistics, customs, or freight management systems is highly preferred.
