BID Managers (All Levels)

WE ARE HIRING Design Confidence is seeking Bid Managers (all levels/grades) to take full ownership of the end-to-end bid lifecycle once it has been allocated. These are hands-on, all-rounder roles for confident bid professionals with a strong, demonstrable track record of writing and winning bids. You will lead your proposals from opportunity to submission – writing compelling content, coordinating contributors, and following up with clients.

We are looking for people who not only manage the process expertly but consistently improve win rates and raise the quality of everything we submit. For those with less experience, we will mentor you. Responsibilities : Proposals & Bid Writing Lead: We expect good English skills to write, compile, edit, and own high-quality proposals, VOs, tenders, and RFP/RFQ/RFI/TQs responses end-to-end.

Write: Craft persuasive, client-focused content that clearly articulates win themes and value propositions. Compliance: Ensure every submission is fully compliant with all requirements, criteria, and evaluation guidance. Develop: Build and maintain a high-quality content library (case studies, CVs, capability statements).

Bid Coordination Manage: your allocated proposal from development, follow up to award. Drive: Bid timelines, internal milestones, and contributor deadlines. Facilitate: Run bid development meetings, review sessions, as necessary, and especially for special Bids Qualify: Monitor tender portals and opportunity sources, qualifying and recommending bids to pursue.

Client Calls & Follow-Ups Engage: Call and follow up with clients on submissions, clarifications, and outcomes. Manage: Manage client clarification questions and responses during live bids. Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and procurement contacts.

Vendor / Supplier Registration Register: Complete and assist with vendor registrations and pre-qualification (PQQ) submissions across portals. Maintain: Assist the Bids Coordinator with keeping company documents, certifications, and compliance records current and accessible. Coordinate: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for bid inputs and pricing.

Strategy, Reporting & Improvement Analyse: Track win/loss outcomes, analyse results, and lead lessons learned to improve future win rates. Report: Prepare bid reports and pipeline summaries for senior management. Improve: Continuously assist with improving the bid processes, templates, and tools.

Anything else: Get involved with anything else as directed by the Head of Bids that strengthens our bid function and win performance. Experience & Skills: Track record: Proven experience as a Bid Manager or Bid Writer, with bids you have personally written and won. Success rate: A demonstrable bid success rate – we ask candidates to evidence their win rate (e.g., percentage of bids won and typical contract values) and to bring examples to the interview.

Writing: Excellent English, persuasive writing with first-class attention to detail. Communication: Good English, Confident written & verbal communicator, comfortable leading client calls and follow-ups. Organisation: Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to run several bids at once to tight deadlines.

Systems: Proficient in MS Office and experienced with tender portals. Drive: Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work autonomously under pressure and assist others on bids. Qualifications: Degree-level Certification Experience in the construction, design, engineering, or built-environment sectors.

Experience with the public sector and framework tendering. APMP certification (Foundation, Practitioner, or Professional) - Desirable A portfolio or examples of successful winning bids. Familiar with CRM Systems.
