Beverage Program Manager

Unapologetic Foods is looking for an experienced and innovative Beverage Program Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in our market expansion. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the beverage program, including selection, procurement, menu development, and training.

As a visible leader, you will be expected to engage with guests and staff to solicit feedback on a frequency sufficient to hold our teams accountable. You are an extension of the management structure and part of our operational success. Your expertise in mixology, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages will be the driving force behind the success of our establishments, setting a new standard for excellence.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Beverage Program Development Develop and implement a comprehensive beverage program that aligns with the establishment's brand, concept, and target market. Design, maintain, and regularly update dynamic beverage menus, ensuring a diverse, high-quality selection that caters to a wide range of tastes and preferences. Continuously monitor current industry trends, emerging products, and novel techniques to drive innovation and ensure the beverage program remains cutting-edge.

Beverage Selection and Procurement Source and select a wide range of beverages, including spirits, beers, non-alcoholic options, and specialty products, ensuring the highest quality and value for the establishment. Cultivate strong relationships with vendors, expertly negotiate pricing and contracts, and meticulously manage inventory levels to optimize profitability and minimize waste. Conduct regular tastings and evaluations to assess the quality and consistency of the beverage offerings and make adjustments as necessary.

Staff Leadership, Training, and Development Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of bartenders, sommeliers, and beverage servers, equipping them with the extensive knowledge and skills required for world-class service. Lead ongoing, impactful training sessions focused on in-depth product knowledge, advanced mixology techniques, precise pouring and serving standards, responsible alcohol service protocols, and effective suggestive selling strategies. Cultivate a positive, high-energy, and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and an uncompromising commitment to service excellence.

Guest Experience and Service Collaborate closely with the culinary team to develop synergistic beverage pairings that flawlessly complement the food menu, significantly enhancing the overall guest dining experience. Uphold the highest level of service standards and guest satisfaction by constantly monitoring beverage quality, presentation, and service timeliness. Proactively address and resolve guest feedback, issues, or complaints related to the beverage program with professionalism and speed, consistently striving to surpass guest expectations.

Financial Oversight and Management Manage and adhere to the beverage budget, closely monitoring costs, sales performance, and overall profitability. Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer preferences to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding pricing, promotions, and menu adjustments. Implement effective cost control measures, including inventory management, waste reduction, and portion control, to maximize profitability.

Required skills and expertise: Proven experience as a Beverage leader, manager, or similar senior multi-unit leadership role with a quality-focused food and beverage group. Exceptional knowledge of and passion for mixology, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, coupled with an up-to-the-minute understanding of current industry trends and emerging products. Demonstrated history of successfully creating, launching, and executing innovative and profitable beverage programs.

Outstanding leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building productive relationships with vendors, staff, and a diverse clientele. Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost control analysis, and leveraging sales data for strategic decision-making. Impeccable attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional quality in both product and service.
