Backend Developer

We are looking for a Backend Developer with 2+ years of hands-on experience in Node.js and Python to join our engineering team. You will build and maintain server-side applications, RESTful APIs, database systems, and business logic. You will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Python.
• Build server-side logic and application workflows.
• Develop backend services using Node.js frameworks and Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Design clean database schemas and write optimized queries.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Develop secure authentication and authorization systems using JWT, OAuth, or similar methods.
• Connect third-party services such as payment gateways, cloud storage, and messaging platforms.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Implement caching solutions such as Redis when required.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot bugs and production issues.
• Work with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, requirement discussions, and effort estimation.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of professional experience in backend development with Node.js and/or Python.
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript and ES6+.
• Good knowledge of Python programming and backend development.
• Good understanding of asynchronous programming, Promises, Async/Await, and the Node.js Event Loop.
• Hands-on experience with Express.js, NestJS, FastAPI, Django, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API development.
• Experience with middleware, error handling, authentication, and API security.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar databases.
• Knowledge of database schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with ORM/ODM tools such as Prisma, TypeORM, Mongoose, Sequelize, SQLAlchemy, or Django ORM.
• Knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
• Basic understanding of Docker and Linux.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment processes.
• TypeScript experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently as well as with a development team.
