Backend Software Engineer (Cloud / AWS) Belfast (Hybrid) | Full-time £50-70k We’re partnering with a high-growth technology company building a modern cloud platform focused on solving complex infrastructure and security challenges. This is an opportunity to join a fast-moving engineering team working on large-scale, distributed systems using cutting-edge technologies. You’ll be part of a backend team tackling complex problems daily—designing, building, and scaling systems that operate across major cloud providers.

What You’ll Be Doing Own the full lifecycle of backend services—from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing optimisation Build and maintain high-performance, scalable services using modern backend technologies Analyse system reliability and performance, identifying improvements and optimisations Contribute to architecture decisions, capacity planning, and service-level objectives (SLOs) Participate in code reviews and collaborate closely with engineering peers Work cross-functionally with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver impactful features What We’re Looking For Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 3+ years commercial experience in backend development Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Experience building or supporting data-intensive systems (databases, messaging, event-driven systems) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices Exposure to microservices architecture Why Apply?
