Back End Developer

Job Title: Backend Developer (Node.js) Employment Type: Full Time (Permanent) Location: Kochi (On-site) Role Category: Software Development – Backend Job Description: We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Developer with strong experience in building scalable, high performance applications using Node.js and modern backend technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing robust APIs, integrating third-party services and developing microservices-based architectures to support web and mobile applications. This role requires close collaboration with frontend teams, DevOps, QA and product stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities: ▪ Design, develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Node.js ▪ Build and manage RESTful APIs and real-time services using Web Sockets ▪ Develop microservices architecture for modular and scalable applications ▪ Experience in developing and implementing real-time tracking systems using Google Maps API and Roads API ▪ Design and integrate third-party services, including Payment Gateway, SMS Gateway and Google Maps/ Jio Maps APIs to enable secure transactions and advanced location intelligence ▪ Work with MongoDB for efficient data modelling and database performance optimisation ▪ Collaborate with frontend teams (AngularJS) to ensure seamless API integration ▪ Implement authentication, authorisation and data security best practices ▪ Optimise application performance, scalability and reliability ▪ Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code ▪ Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning and reviews) ▪ Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems ▪ Ensure high availability and responsiveness of backend services ▪ Expertise in AWS for managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows ▪ Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and deployments ▪ Handle application deployments, rollbacks and release management Required Skills and Experience: ▪ Strong hands-on experience in Node.js and backend development ▪ Experience in AngularJS (understanding frontend-backend interaction) ▪ Strong knowledge of MongoDB and NoSQL database design ▪ Strong understanding of API security, performance tuning and scalability. ▪ Experience in developing real-time tracking system and integrating third-party APIs ▪ Expertise in building REST APIs and WebSocket-based real-time systems ▪ Experience with Microservices Architecture ▪ Knowledge of AWS services and DevOps practices ▪ Hands-on experience in: CI/CD pipelines, Build & Release management ▪ Proficiency with GitHub (version control) ▪ Experience working with Jira or similar Agile tools Required Qualifications: ▪ Minimum 3+ years of experience in backend development ▪ Proven experience in building scalable production-grade applications ▪ Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
