Distributors waited months to know if a retailer would pay. Businesses had no compliant way to collect what was owed. Everyone was building at the transaction layer — nobody was going deeper into what happened after credit was given.

We decided to build that infrastructure. Today, RocketPay sits between payment initiation and default — preventing losses before they happen, not cleaning them up after. We are not a payment gateway, and we are not a debt recovery platform.

We are the pipe through which credit collections and recovery flows. The Role You'll join our shared backend/platform team, building and maintaining services that power both SuperKey and Mandate. Expect to own features end-to-end — from API design to deployment — across payments flows, partner integrations, internal tooling, and reconciliation systems.

Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain backend services in Java / Spring Boot Build and integrate APIs with payment partners and device security partners Own reliability, observability, and performance of services handling financial transactions Write clean, tested, production-grade code; participate in code reviews Debug production issues across the stack; contribute to recon, settlement, and dispute workflows Collaborate directly with founders, ops, and product on fast-turnaround builds Requirements 1 year of backend engineering experience Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot Prior startup experience is preffered — comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and shipping fast Solid fundamentals: REST API design, relational databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL), version control (Git) Ability to debug production issues and reason about distributed systems On-site availability at our HSR Layout, Bengaluru office Good to Have Exposure to payments, UPI, NACH, or fintech APIs Experience with AWS / GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, or message queues Open-source contributions or side projects What You'll Get Direct ownership of systems used by thousands of retailers across India Close collaboration with founders and senior engineers Fast feedback loops — what you build ships within days, not quarters To Apply: Send your resume and GitHub / portfolio to [email protected]
