Back End Developer

Role Summary We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer – Architecture & Product who will work directly with the founders to define technical architecture and product foundation. This is a hands-on senior engineering role, focused on system design, architecture, and product thinking. This is not a people-management role.

Core Responsibilities Architecture & Design Lead the design of scalable backend systems using Microservices and Event-Driven Architecture Define application architecture for: o SaaS usage and license ingestion o Cloud billing and cost analytics o Procurement workflows and approval engines 2. Product & Domain Ownership Translate product requirements into robust technical designs Model complex domains such as procurement, SaaS utilization, and cloud cost allocation 3. Backend Development Develop high-performance Java applications using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security Design secure, extensible RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations 4.

Code Quality & Mentorship Establish coding standards and best practices Conduct code reviews and mentor senior engineers and interns 5. Performance & Reliability Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks Optimize database queries and JVM performance, including garbage collection and memory tuning Ensure reliability for high-volume, mission-critical systems Technical Skills & Requirements Expert-level Java 11/17+, Core Java, multithreading, and concurrency Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security Hibernate / JPA Relational databases: PostgreSQL / Oracle NoSQL databases: MongoDB RESTful API design and system integrations Docker, Kubernetes Cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP Maven or Gradle, Git Automated testing using JUnit and Mockito Experience & Qualifications 7–10+ years of professional backend engineering experience Experience designing systems from early stage to scale Prior experience with SaaS platforms, cloud cost systems, FinTech, or enterprise software is a plus Relevant certifications (OCP, Spring Certified) are nice to have Why Join us High ownership, founder access, and long-term growth opportunities Easy Stage startup - Too much room for growth
