We are a leading managed IT services provider and technology consultant, specialising in delivering transformative technology solutions with industry-leading client experience across business, public sector and not for profit organisations. From cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data management to power app development, we are dedicated to pioneering technology with Microsoft innovation.

Guided by our 3 values of building relationships, customer success and passion and dedication, we are on a mission to make BCN the most trusted tech partner in the UK today. The kind of company clients want to work with, and people want to work for.

We are delighted you are on this journey with us!

Focus of the role:

As an Azure Engineer on BCN’s Azure Managed Services, you will act as a technical contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of cloud customers. Combining strong Azure engineering expertise with excellent customer relationship skills, you will help organisations maximise the value of their Azure investment whilst maintaining secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments.

Working across Azure infrastructure you will develop an understanding of customer goals and priorities. You will provide technical guidance, identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement, lead customer-facing engagements, and drive hands-on delivery of changes that improve performance, security, resilience, and cost efficiency.

You will own the customer's Azure experience, providing proactive recommendations, technical guidance and cloud expertise. Working closely with Account Managers, Architects, Project Teams and Support Engineers you will help customers achieve successful cloud adoption and long-term value from their investment.

Through proactive problem-solving, continuous improvement, and a strong customer focus, you will help organisations maximise the value of Microsoft technologies while supporting BCN's reputation as a trusted technology partner.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary Azure technical contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of managed cloud customers.

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular service reviews and technical workshops.

  • Develop an understanding of customer environments, business objectives, key workloads, and cloud strategies.

  • Provide expert guidance on Azure infrastructure, cloud adoption, security, governance, resilience, and operational best practices.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve customer environments through optimisation, automation, modernisation, and technical change.

  • Lead Azure optimisation initiatives, including rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, storage optimisation, and cost governance recommendations.

  • Deliver hands-on Azure engineering changes and technical improvements across customer environments.

  • Implement, manage, and optimise Azure Virtual Desktop environments and Nerdio solutions.

  • Act as the technical lead during critical incidents, coordinating with internal teams, third-party vendors, and Microsoft to achieve rapid resolution.

Person, Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting and managing Microsoft Azure environments.

  • Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence technical decision-making.

  • Experience conducting customer workshops and technical reviews

  • Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure services, networking, storage, backup, monitoring, governance, and security.

  • Proven ability to identify and implement cost optimisation and cloud efficiency improvements.

  • Experience managing and troubleshooting complex Azure and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Hands-on experience delivering Azure changes and improvements

  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) implementations and optimisation.

  • Experience with Nerdio Manager for AVD is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent would be advantageous.

What success looks like:

  • Customers view you as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.

  • Improvement opportunities are proactively identified.

  • Azure costs are actively managed and optimised.

  • Customer satisfaction, retention, and Azure adoption remain consistently high.
