Job Description
Business Analyst – Lending Tribe – Barclays We are seeking a Business Analyst to support our Lending Tribe in automating the generation of Mortgage documentation. You will work closely with Product Owners, developers, SMEs, operations teams, Legal, and regulatory partners to translate business needs into clear, structured, parameterised specifications that enable high‑quality automation within the Doc Rendering Service platform. Location: Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities Identify and analyse business problems and client requirements that require change. Develop business requirements that address identified problems and opportunities. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions. Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions. Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
Create operational design and process design to meet agreed scope. Support change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix, to ensure successful implementation and embedding of solutions. Required Qualifications Qualified or highly experienced Business Analyst with strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to convert complex, unstructured information into clear business rules and high‑quality deliverables (e.g., user journeys, process maps, data models, specifications).
Proactive, outcome‑driven mindset: self‑starter who plans and manages work, stays customer‑focused, and prioritises clarity, accuracy, value delivery, and operational efficiency. Stakeholder engagement & communication: skilled at managing stakeholders at all levels, facilitating sessions, communicating complex ideas, handling differing viewpoints, eliciting requirements, and presenting insights confidently. Desired Additional Skills Agile delivery capability: experience in Agile environments, working in Scrum teams, collaborating with Product Owners, and contributing to iterative delivery and prioritisation of value‑driven solutions.
Mortgage domain knowledge: deep understanding of mortgage products, credit processes, customer communications, and regulatory requirements, including awareness of how different parts of the credit lifecycle interact. Data & automation expertise: skills in analysing data structures, flows, and complex business rules, with experience in automation tools or workflow systems and a solid grasp of process optimisation and continuous improvement principles.
