AutoCAD/Interior Design Position for Toronto Penthouse (4 months)

Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled AutoCAD & Interior Design Specialist to support our architecture and construction project for a period of 3-4 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing detailed technical drawings and designs using AutoCAD software. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural and construction principles, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to work effectively on-site in Toronto, Canada on weekdays.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct on-site visits regularly to gather information, verify measurements, and ensure design accuracy.
• Develop and prepare accurate 2D and 3D architectural and construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and schematics, using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate closely with the designer, site super, project managers, and other team members to translate design concepts and specifications into technical drawings.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project teams and the client.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility.
Qualifications
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
• Minimum of 1-5 years of proven experience as an AutoCAD Drafter, Interior Designer, or similar role within the architecture and construction industry. More experience is highly valued.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software is essential; experience with other design software (e.g., Revit, SketchUp, 3D modeling tools) is an asset.
• Strong understanding of architectural drafting standards, construction methods, and building materials.
• Must be able to reliably commute to project site within Toronto, Canada.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• A diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering, Drafting, Interior Design or a related field is preferred.
• Tangible real-life experience building objects/furniture is a big asset, can conceptualize construction methods. Practical assembly skills.
