Overview We are seeking an experienced Audit & Assurance (A&A) Manager with 5–7+ years of public accounting experience to join our growing firm. This role will lead and perform audit, review, and compilation engagements while preparing financial statements for a diverse client base, including non-profit organizations, construction companies, and entrepreneurial small businesses. This is a hands-on leadership role with strong growth potential, including future ownership consideration for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage audit, review, and compilation engagements from planning through completion Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable reporting standards Perform audit fieldwork, testing procedures, and risk assessments to evaluate internal controls Plan engagements by meeting with clients, gathering documentation, and assigning responsibilities to staff Review staff workpapers and provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships Identify accounting, reporting, and internal control issues and provide recommendations Ensure engagements are completed accurately and within established timelines Collaborate with firm leadership on engagement strategy and client service delivery Assist with accounting-related matters and occasional tax support, if applicable Travel locally to client sites for fieldwork and meetings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required CPA license or CPA-eligible strongly preferred 5–7+ years of recent public accounting experience in audit and assurance Experience performing audits, reviews, compilations, and financial statement preparation Experience working with non-profit, construction, and small business clients preferred Prior experience supervising staff or leading engagements strongly preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong communication and client relationship management abilities Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines simultaneously Willingness to work on-site in Kerrville, TX and travel locally as needed What to Expect Manager-level role with hands-on engagement execution Regular interaction with clients and leadership team Opportunity to mentor and develop junior staff Collaborative, team-focused firm culture Clear career advancement path with potential ownership opportunities
