Overview Avenue5 is a third‑party multifamily property management firm with locations across the United States. We are looking for an Associate Vice President of Client Strategy to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities Research, source, and build authentic relationships with strategic partners and clients to procure management agreements.

Create a repeatable, scalable process to identify and analyze new opportunities through asset acquisition, lease‑up contracts, and management change opportunities. Manage all processes leading to finalizing partnerships, including prospecting, initial contact, deal analysis, underwriting, physical asset evaluation, broker/client collaboration, and formalizing pitch presentations. Coordinate with regional leadership on strategic planning for new business pursuit.

Ensure company and client financial and business objectives are achieved. Determine operational and financial potential of prospective management opportunities. Assist leadership with identifying market changes and procurement of new management opportunities.

Maintain expert knowledge of Avenue5 products and services. Participate in multifamily conferences and symposiums. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree is required. Five or more years of experience in multi‑family property management client strategy, business development, or related field. Three to five years of experience with RealPage and/or Yardi software.

Three to five years of experience analyzing and underwriting market‑rate, affordable, value‑add, or lease‑up properties. Proficient in Excel. Real Estate license as required by state or local law.

Knowledge of profit and loss statements, general ledgers, rent rolls, market surveys, balance sheets, cash flow projections, budgeting templates is preferred. Familiarity with industry‑related business intelligence tools is preferred. Skills & Requirements Ability to facilitate presentations concisely with strong visuals and solid analysis.

Proven track record of developing compelling business cases for clients. Excellent team collaboration and leadership abilities. Clear articulation of complex financial and strategic concepts.

Knowledge of market‑rate stabilized garden, mid‑rise, and high‑rise assets, lease‑up development, and value‑add asset types. Strong negotiation, problem‑solving, and project management skills. Understanding of property management industry trends, issues, and emerging technology.

Understanding of key economic indicators and their impact on strategy. Track record of accomplishments and high‑impact results in multifamily or related industry. Ability to work strategically and tactically.

Prioritization and resource allocation in dynamic environments. Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong follow‑up skills.

Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in fast‑paced environments. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Leadership to foster growth and coaching for associates.

Goal‑setting and deadline‑meeting skills. Knowledge of federal fair housing laws and local provisions. Availability via phone except approved time off.

Valid driver’s license, automobile, and insurance. Other licenses or certifications required by state law. Completion of Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and any assigned courses.

Scheduling Maintain a regular schedule with potential overtime, weekends, and non‑traditional holidays. Travel overnight (75%) required. Environment Typical office building setting.

Physical Requirements Lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds. Detect signs of emergency via visual/auditory cues. Remain stationary, move around, reach, and position for extended periods.

Communicate and express ideas with others clearly and effectively. Perceive sounds at normal speaking levels and discriminate detail. Visual requirements: color, depth perception, field vision.

Coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, and instruct tasks. Tolerate stressful situations. Work under minimal to moderate supervision.
