Overview

Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical Medical Physics – non-tenure track, at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) in Baltimore, MD. Requires a Ph.D. in medical physics, engineering, or related physical science and ABR board certification/eligibility in radiation oncology physics. Expected rank is Associate Professor or higher; final rank and tenure status are commensurate with the candidate’s experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical duties including quality assurance, machine maintenance and calibration, patient treatment planning and treatment support.
  • Support technology and workflow optimization and implementation.
  • Support special procedures including motion managed intensity modulated photon therapy; robust stereotactic body radiation therapy; and brachytherapy.
  • Teach residents and trainees; participate in clinical innovation and translation.
  • Engage in collaborative interdisciplinary research as part of a comprehensive research program.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in medical physics, engineering, or related physical science.
  • ABR board certification/eligibility in radiation oncology physics.

Salary and Benefits

Expected salary range: $226,193 – $397,329. The range reflects base pay by faculty rank and years in rank. Additional components of the compensation program may apply, and actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, internal equity, market conditions, and education/training.
