What you become a part of: The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance operations, budgeting, and financial planning for Shalinaβs business in Africa.
This role involves managing accounting tasks, local tax compliance, intercompany reconciliations, and providing essential financial insights to help guide business decisions. What to expect: Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead preparation and submission of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts within defined timelines. Drive budgetary controls and detailed variance analysis (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast).
Support consolidation of financials across markets in coordination with central finance and HO. 2. Financial Performance Management and Analytics: Generate and interpret financial reports, including monthly management accounts and annual financial statements for external audits. Own monthly performance review deck and present variance analysis to Business Head and HO.
Identify cost optimization and margin enhancement opportunities. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance finance performance. 3. Commercial & Operational Finance Support: Support financial aspects of importation, warehousing, and logistics operations.
Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and conduct ROI analysis. Monitor and manage annual capital expenditure budgets. 4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Oversee monthly debtor position and working capital tracking.
Support preparation and analysis of cash flow statements. Drive initiatives to optimize receivables, inventory, and payables cycles. 5. Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to group financial policies, internal controls, and Navision system governance.
Support timely preparation of periodic financial reports for audits and statutory requirements. Develop and strengthen financial management mechanisms to minimize risks and ensure business integrity. Ensure tax compliance and statutory remittances within defined timelines (in coordination with local teams). 6.
Systems & Process Improvement: Support development and enhancement of financial information management systems. Drive automation and reporting improvements using ERP systems (MS Navision / Business Central preferred). Strengthen financial reporting processes for improved visibility and decision-making.
Essential qualifications & experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CA) is highly preferred. 6 β 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience in financial planning and analysis within pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, or adjacent industries is mandatory. Experience handling multi-geography or emerging markets. Desired skills & attributes: Ability to interpret financial data and translate into actionable insights.
Knowledge & experience in MS Navision/ Business Central or equivalent ERP systems is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
High attention to detail, time management, and cross-functional coordination skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing deliverables. Experience working in cross-cultural and diverse teams.
