Camphill Community Glencraig is currently recruiting for the following vacancy:

Assistant Teacher (26/45/AT/WEB)

Purpose of the Job:

The purpose of this role is to provide enhanced support to four students with complex learning disabilities, autism and high support needs.

Working under the direction of the Class Teacher, the post holder will support teaching, learning, care and behaviour support alongside another Assistant Teacher.

The role includes providing hands-on student support, modelling good practice, and assisting Classroom Assistants to deliver consistent, person-centered support. It also involves using specialist skills in behaviour support and dynamic risk assessment to promote student safety, wellbeing, engagement and positive outcomes.

Salary:£29,083 - £31,467 per annum N.B. Salaries are paid equally over 12 months

Hours: 36.5 hours per week

Additional hours after school, on weekends or during off duty periods, may be available in our on-site childrens and adults homes if NISCC registered, through our internal bank staff facility. Glencraig meets this professional fee.

Contract: Permanent

Annual Leave: 30 days plus 12 statutory days.

*Assistant Teachers benefit from an additional 10 days off duty days, giving a total of 52 non-working daysper annum

Essential Criteria:

Demonstrates Glencraigs values.

Level 4 qualification or a Level 3 with 5 years relevant experience supporting children and young people in either a Camphill School, a mainstream SEN setting, a children's learning disability service, or a children's residential care setting.

At least one years experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism in a children's learning disability setting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Criteria:

GCSE English and Mathematics to Grade C or above or equivalent.

Have experience of or demonstrate the ability to contribute to teamwork, including supporting the organisation and prioritisation of work.

Positive Behaviour Support L3 Coaches Training.

Training in Risk Assessment e.g. IOSH.
