Do you want to be part of a project aimed at helping people struggling with street homelessness across Cardiff?

How about working for a charity that is well known across the world for being there to help and support others?

We are looking for an Assistant Support Worker to do just that.

You'll be there to listen, advise and support. To act with compassion, respect and understanding. All the while, promoting client choices and assisting in the delivery of a successful programme.

THIS IS A 40 HOURS PER WEEK POSITION

SHIFT PATTERN:

• 3 week rolling rota
• 2 days off per week (will fall on Mondays, Sundays or Saturdays)
• Earliest start is 7am to 3.30pm
• Latest start is 11.30am to 8pm
• 8 hour shifts
• THERE ARE NO NIGHT SHIFTS - DAYS AND AFTERNOONS ONLY

What will you get?

• Salary of £28,538 (pro rata)
• This equates to £13.72 per hour
• Long term ongoing temporary contract
• The option to cover other shifts
• 33 day holiday entitlement (including bank holidays)
• 40 hours per week

What do you need?

• Experience of working with vulnerable people, or those who have been through homelessness
• An understanding of trauma and how it can effect behaviours
• The ability to work with others, encourage them and understand their complex lives
• Be non-judgmental and empathic
• Able to communicate at all levels
• Willing to cover various shift patterns (see shift patterns above)
• Be motivated to help others
• Able to complete a DBS check or have a live check on the update service (this will be covered by the employer)

What will I do?

• You'll work at a major project in Cardiff set up specifically to support and solve homelessness
• You'll work within a psychologically informed framework
• Aiming to deliver zero evictions within the projects
• Offer post-resettlement support to people
• Help them to move and settle in to independent living once they are ready
