Duties and Responsibilities
Teaches a 4/4 load (3/4 first year) that includes undergraduate andgraduate courses in English Teacher Education (Secondary Level) aswell as first-year composition courses; advises students; workswith the College of Education to ensure English BS students followuniversity and staterequirements for teacher accreditation;mentors and coaches students on PRAXIS exams; conducts research;serves on departmental, college, and/or university committees;writes proposals for public and private grants; networks with K-12public school systems; performs other related duties as assigned.Course releases for research and special projects are possible.This is a full-time tenure track faculty position that may requireteaching in the evenings and Saturdays. The successful candidatewill start work at BSU in August 2023.

Experience
A minimum of two years of college/university teaching experience ispreferred. Familiarity with K-12 public school systems is aplus.
Education
Doctorate in English or English Education
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The candidate should have expertise in English Teacher Education atthe secondary level, literacy studies, basic composition, orwriting assessment. Evidence of strong research capability and astrong, peer-reviewed, scholarly publication record in Englishteacher education, composition studies or a related area;demonstrated ability to effectively teach undergraduate andgraduate courses in areas of secondary education and literature;knowledge of and experience in developing and evaluatingundergraduate and graduate courses in English; demonstratedcommitment to excellence in teaching, research/scholarship, anduniversity/community service; excellent communication skills;digital information technology skills including Blackboard a must;bilingualism is a plus.
