The Rector of Medical University of Gdańsk announces an open competition for the position of
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY (f/m)
group of research-teaching employees
part- time employee (0.6 FTE )

THE TASKS OF A PERSON EMPLOYED AT THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE:
- conducting and documenting research or research and development activities, including active participation in the dissemination of the results of research activities,
- undertaking activities aimed at obtaining external financing for research activities,
- conducting and documenting classes, especially of practical character (exercises, laboratories, practical classes), and participating in the supervision of doctoral students,
- significant participation in organizational work for the benefit of University and unit,
- improving teaching or professional qualifications through English language skills improvement, completing a course in the methodology of academic didactics, as well as documented participation in trainings and conferences or transnational traineeships of cumulative duration min. 2 weeks,
- engaging in significant publishing and conference activity of research, didactical and/or popularizing nature (including original articles, popular science articles, review articles, etc.)
CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO:
- hold at least a doctoral degree,
- have a research and educational or professional achievements,
- conduct a significant scientific activity and potential for independent fundraising for the implementation of research or research and development projects.
JOB ROLE REQUIREMENTS IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT:
- a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy,
- documented professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry,
- fluency in English at a minimum B2 level,
- proficiency in Polish sufficient to teach classes to students in Polish.
EXPECTED CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- documented experience or completed teaching courses,
- a scientific acheivements documented in (at least) one full-text original publication (including one original publication as first author) in peer-reviewed academic journal with at least Q2, scientific acheivements should equal at least 6,0 points IF,
- manager or executor in at least one research or educational project, funded from external sources, obtained in competiotion procedure,
- holding an appropriate specialization in relevant area of medical science, if the hiring should be completed within area of clinical science, and relevant legislation is provided for this particular specialization (experience in organizational work).

COMPETITION PROCEDURE:
- The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements of Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws 2024.1571; Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as subsequently amended), hereinafter referred to as: ‘the Act’, namely:
- - hold the qualifications specified in the Act and the Statutes of the Medical University of Gdańsk of 3 June 2019 (i.e. Annex No. 1 to Resolution No. 69/2023 of the Senate of the Medical University of Gdańsk of 27 November 2023),
- - have not been subject to a disciplinary penalty as referred to in Article 276(1)(7) and (8) of the Act,
- - meet the requirements referred to in Article 20(1)(1)–(3) of the Act,
- - declare that, should they be selected for employment as a result of this competition, the Medical University of Gdańsk will be their primary place of work within the meaning of the Act.
- All documents must be submitted in Polish or English.
- The deadline for submitting applications is 23:59 on 07.09.2026 – the date of receipt of the documents as recorded by the recruitment system shall be decisive.
- The outcome of the competition will be determined on the basis of an analysis of the documentation submitted.
- The outcome of the competition, together with the reasons for the decision, will be available on the Public Information Bulletin (BIP) on the websites of the University, the Minister and the Minister supervising the University within 30 days of the competition’s conclusion.
- The University reserves the right not to fill the post without giving a reason.
- The final decision on the appointment of the candidate recommended by the Selection Committee rests with the Rector.

- a declaration of consent to the processing of personal data contained in the presented documents for the purposes necessary for the implementation of the competition procedure,
- CV (information on the candidate’s previous work achievements),
- the duty to provide information to job applicants,
- a university diploma stating the professional titles the candidate has earned (along with the supplement),
- (if applicable) a bibliometric analysis list with IF score,
- (if applicable) confirmation of the right to practice the profession and professional specialization documents,
- other documents confirming qualifications and competencies for teaching students e.g. references.
