Assistant Manager – Production (Pre-Assembly)

Role Purpose

To lead and manage Pre-Assembly production operations within the Refrigerator Division, ensuring achievement of production targets, quality standards, process efficiency, manpower utilization, and smooth production operations. The candidate must have strong hands-on experience in Refrigerator Pre-Assembly, Cabinet Foaming, and CRF processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Pre-Assembly Section of the Refrigerator Division.
• Ensure achievement of daily, monthly, and annual production targets as per PPC plans.
• Manage manpower planning, deployment, productivity, and shift operations for the Pre-Assembly section.
• Supervise and control Cabinet Foaming operations and ensure adherence to defined process parameters.
• Manage and monitor CRF processes within the Pre-Assembly operation.
• Ensure proper execution of all Refrigerator Pre-Assembly processes as per SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Monitor CTP/CTQ parameters and ensure process compliance and consistency.
• Drive improvement in First Time Right (FTR) and reduce rejection, rework, defects, and scrap.
• Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve productivity and quality.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and resources.
• Train, guide, and develop production operators and supervisors on Pre-Assembly, CRF, and Cabinet Foaming processes.
• Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Material departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Ensure machine and equipment availability and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular process and machine audits and ensure timely closure of identified issues.
• Maintain all required ISO & IMS documentation, production records, process reports, and control documents.
• Monitor production KPIs such as UPH, FTR, rejection, scrap, productivity, and downtime.
• Ensure adherence to all quality, safety, and environmental standards within the Pre-Assembly area.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction, productivity improvement, and process optimization.
• Ensure zero-accident operations by strictly following company HSE and safety standards.
• Handle production-related issues independently and ensure timely resolution in coordination with cross-functional teams.

Key Skills & Technical Competencies

• Mandatory hands-on experience in Refrigerator Pre-Assembly.
• Mandatory knowledge and experience in Cabinet Foaming.
• Mandatory knowledge and experience in CRF processes.
• Strong understanding of Domestic Refrigerator manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of Cabinet Foaming process parameters, quality requirements, and defect control.
• Strong understanding of CTP/CTQ and Process Control Plans.
• Knowledge of FTR, rejection, rework, scrap, productivity, and downtime improvement.
• Strong manpower planning and production team management skills.
• Good knowledge of ISO/IMS documentation and process compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Ability to drive production teams and achieve targets within defined timelines.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement will be an advantage.

Education & Experience

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in Production.
• Mandatory experience in the Domestic Refrigerator Division/Industry.
• Mandatory experience specifically in Refrigerator Pre-Assembly.
• Mandatory hands-on knowledge of Cabinet Foaming and CRF processes.
• Candidates from other industries without Refrigerator Pre-Assembly experience should not be considered.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and Process Control Plan will be preferred.
