Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services in consultation with the Director of Nursing (DON)
Lead and supervise the nursing and care teams, providing clinical guidance and support
Coordinate residential care activities with Nurse Managers and the nursing team
Conduct nursing rounds and follow up on clinical, safety and service issues
Monitor and improve the quality of nursing care through audits, quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions
Ensure compliance with infection control, fire safety, security and nursing standards
Investigate and manage unusual incidents, escalating matters to the DON when required
Work closely with residents, relatives and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective care coordination
Monitor residents' changing care needs and recommend improvements to nursing services
Ensure adequate manpower, appropriate staff skill mix and proper coverage across shifts
Oversee nursing competencies, staff performance appraisal and professional development
Support the DON in new programmes, projects and operational matters, and deputies in the DON's absence.
Participate in staff training, nursing committees, quality improvement projects and other assigned duties.
Requirements
Fully Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
10 years of progressive clinical and administrative experience in acute or residential care
2 years' experience in a similar position in a medium/large nursing home, OR 5 years' experience as a Senior Nurse Manager in an acute hospital, community hospital or nursing home
