Overview Assistant Catering Manager - Secondary School Location: Wirral | Contract: Term Time Only | Hours: Full Time (Monday-Friday) | Salary: Β£15.50-Β£18.50 per hour (dependent on experience) | Start Date: September 2026 Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Catering Manager to join the catering team at a welcoming secondary school on the Wirral. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with catering and supervisory experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality food services within an educational environment. The successful candidate will support the Catering Manager in the day-to-day operation of the school\'s catering provision, ensuring excellent food quality, customer service, and compliance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities Support the Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and dining facilities Assist with menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery Supervise catering staff and allocate duties as required Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control Maintain accurate records relating to food safety and hygiene Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures Assist with training and supporting catering team members Promote a positive dining experience for students, staff, and visitors Requirements / Qualifications Previous experience within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment Experience supervising or leading a team Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable) Strong organisational and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children What We’re Looking For A positive and proactive approach to work Strong leadership and team-working skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability A passion for providing high-quality food and service Reliable, professional, and adaptable Previous experience in a supervisory catering role is highly desirable How to Apply To express interest or request further information, please click apply now or send your CV and a brief cover letter to [email protected] as soon as possible.
