About You
- Previous experience working in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end processes.
- Experience preparing journals, reconciliations and supporting management accounts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and confident using ERP or accounting systems.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
- Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.
What You'll Do
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve outstanding items.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support business performance.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare payment runs and support treasury activities where required.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
- Assist with VAT returns, statutory reporting and year-end audit preparation.
- Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Liaise with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial support and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiencies.
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and business initiatives as required.
