Area Sales Manager – Utility Location: US Central Region (TX, OK, AR, IA, MO, KS, MI, WI, LA, MN, ND, SD, KY, NE, IL). Remote role. Must reside in the US Central Region and be able to travel 75% of the time.

Key Responsibilities Track performance for all territories, set quarterly goals and activities for each territory, and track execution. Deploy pricing strategies to maximize margins and spread performance. Provide input to the region budget process.

Develop strategic contacts with key personnel at select end‑customer accounts and engineering firms. Actively participate on weekly pricing calls and monthly staff meetings. Set goals for manufacturer representatives and distribution partners while tracking performance using a scorecard.

Create a motivational team environment to deliver the financial results for the district. Set an operating rhythm in the district to ensure timely and concise communication to all channels. Train, lead, and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews and succession planning.

Follow company policies, ethics, and compliance guidelines. Forecast sales by volume for each month for the upcoming three months; fill out forms and report to management. Manage business to budget; focus on data analytics beyond sales.

Develop and maintain relationships with end users, distributors, contractors, and engineering firms. Develop, maintain, and lead manufacturer representatives in the territory. Skills and/or Experience Requirements Must be able to travel 75% of the time and have experience working individually or remotely; will be on the road 3+ days a week.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering, sales, construction, electrical, lineman, journeyman, field services, or product management. Experience in the power utility (electrical/energy) industry for at least two years—electrical utility manufacturers, utility‑adjacent suppliers, OEMs, power infrastructure, etc. Experience proactively seeking prospective new clients and completing sales calls.

Conduct training in sales techniques and company product attributes. Salesforce experience is a plus. Experience resolving customer concerns and providing tangible solutions.

Inside/outside sales experience with background in Power Utility, Electrical & EV Infrastructure Suppliers, HDPE Conduit, Innerduct & Utility Infrastructure Manufacturers, Fiber Optic & Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Companies. Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws).
