Hays has partnered with a full‑service architectural practice with offices in Calgary and Vancouver, and a long‑standing presence across Western Canada. They are currently seeking a Job Captain or Project Manager to join their integrated Calgary team. This firm has considerable experience on a wide variety of building types of varying scale and complexity.
As a Project Manager you will be working across commercial, institutional, industrial, heritage and residential project types. This is a great opportunity to join a multifaceted and agile practice with opportunity for growth. *in office FT with flexibility
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from design development through construction documents and CA, ensuring technical quality and adherence to design intent.
- Manage schedules, workflows, and deliverables across multidisciplinary teams.
- Act as the primary liaison for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders with clear, proactive communication.
- Oversee and review construction drawings and specifications for code, bylaw, and quality compliance, including QA/QC of all project documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues during documentation and construction.
- Mentor junior and intermediate staff in technical detailing, Revit standards, and best practices.
- Lead CA tasks including RFIs, submittals, site instructions, and regular site meetings.
- Monitor construction progress for conformance to contract documents and resolve field issues collaboratively.
- Maintain thorough documentation, tracking, and communication throughout construction.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
- Ensure accurate, efficient deliverables aligned with client expectations and contractual requirements.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program.
- 8+ years of project experience and have previous experience working on similar project typology to the firm.
- Proficient with the following platforms: Revit & AutoCAD + project management software's (Procore or Newforma)
- Possess a solid understanding of Alberta building code, construction methodologies, and consultant coordination.
- LEED & PMP Certification are a bonus but not a requirement
- Confidence managing complex projects and leading teams through all phases, especially CD and CA
The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package of $80K-$100K (dependent on experience), extended benefits, Christmas days off + banked hours & summer flex days.
