Dedicated Chromium runs on Firecracker VMs for sub‑second cold starts. Location & Compensation Toronto, ON – Onsite. Base salary $160k–$240k USD plus equity.
Technical Stack TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js, AWS, Firecracker, PostgreSQL, Redis. 4+ years of experience required for both roles. Applied AI Engineer Responsibilities Shape how AI agents interact with the web. Build open‑source frameworks and demos on the Sessions API.
Run experiments on models, prompts, and harnesses to determine what works best. Create evaluations against real scenarios. Collaborate with customers shipping agents to production.
Act as an AI‑native full‑stack engineer with strong product sense. Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities Design and operate the systems Steel runs on. Build VM snapshotting that restores full browser state in under a second.
Performance‑tune the Sessions API using kernel traces. Orchestrate millions of sessions with sub‑second cold starts. Apply distributed‑systems experience with strong AWS/GCP and Linux/OS fundamentals.
