Base pay range $125,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Applications Engineer – Industrial Vision & AI Deployment ~50% Overnight Travel About the Opportunity A rapidly growing AI + computer‑vision scale‑up is transforming how enterprises detect defects, events, and actions within production environments, enabling manufacturers to automate visual inspection, improve yield, reduce waste, and scale intelligence across factory floors.
Their platform empowers customers to deploy visual AI systems without heavy engineering lift, integrating directly with existing industrial cameras, sensors, conveyors, robots, and manufacturing infrastructure. As they expand adoption across global production sites, they are seeking a hands‑on Applications Engineer to lead on‑site system integration, camera installation, deployment, and customer success. About the Role You’ll be the bridge between cutting‑edge visual AI technology and real‑world factory execution and working directly with customers from pre‑sales technical scoping through deployment and field success.
Responsibilities Lead on‑site installation, calibration, and commissioning of industrial cameras and AI‑driven visual inspection systems Integrate software with customer cameras, sensors, networks, robots, and mechanical equipment Validate image quality, run structured test plans, and ensure systems perform reliably in production Troubleshoot hardware & imaging issues directly in the field Partner with machine learning teams to deploy, tune, and test deep‑learning‑based vision models Deliver customer onboarding, training, and ongoing support Preferred Experience / Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Vision, Robotics) or related field Hands‑on experience with camera hardware, imaging systems, or industrial deployments Strong mechanical aptitude & comfort working on‑site in real‑world factory conditions Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently Customer‑facing communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts into solutions Willingness to travel ~50% overnight to customer facilities Exposure to computer vision, deep learning, or image processing Prior experience integrating automation, AI, or factory‑floor systems Experience supporting both pre‑sale and post‑sale technical customer engagements Familiarity with no‑code / low‑code AI tools or machine learning deployment workflows If you’re excited by hands‑on engineering mixed with field deployment, love being the face of cutting‑edge tech, and want your work to directly impact global manufacturers, this role puts you at the center of real‑world AI adoption.
