Job Description
Role Summary The Analyst, Legal Operations is an entry- to early-career role within the Firm's global Legal Operations team, providing essential operational and analytical support across the Tech Disputes practice and associated client portfolios. Reporting to the Manager, Legal Operations, this role is focused on delivering accurate, timely, and well-organized support across matter administration, financial tracking, data management, and process coordination. The Analyst will develop a strong foundation in legal operations by working closely with the Manager and Senior Manager, gaining exposure to multi-jurisdictional matters, financial reporting, and legal technology.
The Analyst will build foundations for developing relationships with internal and external clients, be responsive, adaptable, and professional in meeting requests, and explore and understand client needs and expectations. The Analyst will show self‑motivation and drive to develop, asking for feedback, learning, and adapting, and will be supported by the Manager and Senior Manager in building their legal operations expertise and career at the Firm. Main Duties And Responsibilities In collaboration with the Manager, Legal Operations and team leadership, support and strengthen the Firm’s legal operations capabilities and pipeline of work, assisting Partners and lawyers in utilizing Legal Ops support on their matters and portfolios.
Operational support and administration: Supporting the execution of standardized workflows and operational procedures across assigned matters, under the guidance of the Manager Maintaining matter records, tracking key dates, milestones, and deliverables, and escalating issues to the Manager promptly Managing own work and pre‑empting the needs of the team to add value in the role Assisting with process mapping documentation and capturing notes during process review sessions Maintaining organized files and operational records in relevant systems and platforms Assisting with testing and implementation of new tools and processes as directed by the Manager Finding new ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of own work and sharing ideas with the Manager Asking for feedback, learning, and adapting in response to new technologies and ways of working Financial tracking and reporting: Supporting financial data tracking, including tracking fee arrangements, updating budget trackers, and preparing various financial analysis under the Manager's direction Maintaining and updating operational dashboards with current matter data and financial information Compiling data for trend analysis and reporting as directed by the Manager and Senior Manager Assisting with the preparation of budget summaries and portfolio level status reports Maintaining accurate data across legal technology platforms including eBilling systems, extranets, and collaboration tools systems, extranets, and collaboration tools Collaboration and communication: Supporting relationships and adopting a collaborative approach between the Firm's legal teams, local counsel, and clients on matter workstreams Supporting the operational liaison function between legal teams, clients, and service providers to help ensure effective communication and coordination Supporting coordination across functions such as Pricing, LPM, Finance, Innovation and Practice Solutions, Technology, and Business Development under the Manager’s direction to help ensure alignment with client expectations Preparing well‑structured, grammatically correct written communications and work product Supporting the preparation of presentations on relevant topics to partners and clients Staying current on legal operations trends, technologies, and best practices Contributing to innovation initiatives to implement practical tools, processes, and methodologies Experience And Knowledge Familiarity with Legal Operations, legal administration, project coordination, and legal processes or a related professional services environment; recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds and relevant internship experience will be considered Good organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑moving, detail‑oriented environment Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, well‑organized work product Good analytical and data skills, with experience in data entry, report preparation, and basic financial tracking Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to legal technology platforms (eBilling, extranets, collaboration tools) is an advantage Clear, professional, and confident written and verbal communication skills Flexible and resilient with ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure Self‑motivated with a drive to develop — receptive to feedback and committed to continuous learning Sensitivity to cultural differences across global teams Education And Qualifications A strong academic record, preferred undergraduate degree in relevant field Formal project management qualification would be advantageous (e.g., APMQ or PMP), but not essential 1‑2 years of relevant work experience; recent graduates with demonstrable relevant skills and experience will be considered Salary Range $88,000 - $143,000 This role reports to Director, Legal Operations Equal Opportunities White & Case is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and is committed to creating a fair workplace.
