Analyst - Recycling (Mandarin required, recycling experience) Description: You will join Benchmark’s global analyst team as Analyst, with responsibility within Benchmark’s Recycling data and forecasts. This will require regular communication with the analyst team, direct communication with industry players, and the collection/evaluation of public data. You will work directly within our Supply Chain Data division, receiving guidance on the supply chain and market structures as part of your introduction to the business.

It is key that you are a motivated individual with an eagerness to understand the global energy storage and renewable energy supply chains and are driven to learn more and extend the company knowledge and product base. Our analysts work primarily from the office (at least 4 days/week), and while we have regular meetings both virtually and in-person, it is important that you are self-motivated and can manage your time to achieve specific tasks and assignments. As part of your role, you will be given the opportunity to travel the world, become a recognised global authority on the topics you cover, interact with senior management from leading companies in the recycling, and regularly speak to and be quoted by various media organisations.

Benchmark is a fast-growing organisation so there will also be opportunities for progression and job development. Key responsibilities: Data collection across the battery recycling markets, responsibility for company profiles and country legislation. As well as participating in preparing our long-term recycling outlook.

Engaging with the Benchmark team to share insight and conduct data analysis. Supporting the consulting team with bespoke projects. Speak to media and at industry events and forums.

Requirements: Mandarin fluency required. Demonstrated interest in Recycling, through work or degree project. Analytical mindset, drive for deeper understanding and growth of personal and company knowledge base of industry.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint (ideally advanced). Naturally organised and self-motivated individual; able to work in office and at home. Good communication skills: able to interact with the internal team and external clients.

Have base knowledge of battery industry/renewable energy supply chains (ideal, not essential). To work within the start-up culture and mentality of Team Benchmark, which can require continuing to operate and undertake day to day duties while travelling across the world, including weekend work when travelling abroad. The ability to work full time from our London office from May 2026 is required for this role.
