Role Description
As an AI Governance Engineer at Orbio AI, you will design, implement, and maintain governance frameworks that ensure safe, compliant, and trustworthy deployment of AI agents across global enterprises. In this full-time hybrid role based in Barcelona, you will split your time between onsite collaboration and remote work, coordinating closely with engineering, product, and compliance teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include defining policies and guardrails for AI systems, developing tools for monitoring and auditing model behavior, and analyzing patterns in agent decision-making to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
You will help translate regulatory and ethical guidelines into technical controls, document best practices, and support internal stakeholders and clients in understanding and applying AI governance standards. The role also involves contributing to internal documentation, participating in design reviews, and continuously improving governance processes as the platform evolves.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science with hands-on experience in Software Development for backend or infrastructure systems.
- Applied experience in Neural Networks and Natural Language Processing (NLP), including understanding of modern architectures and deployment considerations.
- Demonstrated ability in Pattern Recognition and analysis of model or system behavior to detect anomalies, biases, or policy violations.
- Experience designing or implementing governance, risk, or compliance frameworks for AI or software systems is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or similar) and familiarity with cloud platforms or MLOps practices.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with strong documentation skills.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Barcelona, collaborating across distributed teams and time zones.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
